Exam Invigilation Information
End Point Assessments (EPAs) have replaced the previous method of continuous assessment applied within the apprenticeship framework.
As an Apprentice Assessment Organisation (AAO) we offer EPAs, consisting of two parts.
Part 1: an online assessment, giving the apprentice the opportunity to tackle a series of business-related tasks through simulation in line with typical role activities. We have a range of mock assessment for the apprentice to try before taking the endpoint assessment
Part 2: a portfolio of evidence. This is used to demonstrate competence in the knowledge, skills and behaviours defined within the standard. Evidence for this element is gathered from the workplace during the on-programme learning. The apprentice must then reflect on their portfolio of evidence, either through a written statement, or professional discussion.
The evidence included within the portfolio can come from a range of different sources and situations within the workplace.

Both parts of the EPA are scheduled and managed using our online assessment platform, Secure Assess.
synoptic assessment is available at pre-announced synoptic windows and can be scheduled up to 28 days in advance.
Synoptic assessment windows and results release dates
For an EPA to be scheduled, there are three key criteria that need to be met.
The apprentice must have completed a minimum of 12 months of on-programme learning.
The portfolio of evidence needs to be signed off by the provider and employer before submission.
The apprentice must be deemed competent in relation to knowledge, skills and behaviours.
Both elements of the EPA will be scheduled using our online assessment platform, SecureAssess.
Assessment and grading
The synoptic assessment and EPA is marked by AAT markers, and results will be released within six weeks of the assessment date. The manner in which the portfolio and reflective component is assessed will vary depending on the level of apprenticeship and the chosen reflective piece.
Apprentices will achieve either a Pass or Distinction for their apprenticeship on completion of their synoptic assessment and portfolio and reflective.
